The full moon is at direct alignment tonight, Sunday April 29th, at 8:59pm EST. I awoke to a pink hue through the morning cloud cover. Pink is the theme with this full moon. It is known as the Pink Moon! This term connects to the pink phlox that begins to bloom during this full moon. As the phlox opens, it provides a gorgeous pink glow along stone walls and hills across the northern hemisphere this time of year. Along with the name the Pink Moon, it is also known as the Egg Moon, due to spring being egg-laying season, and to some it is known as Fish Moon because shad have always swum upstream with this moon.
This is another powerful moon to assist with the winter cleansing as we truly begin to awake from a long winter's nap. This moon will shine a bright light on the truth within you. What has been laying dormant all winter? What is ready to head out into the light? These are great questions to begin to ponder today as you are out in nature. Allow the energy of nature to activate your inner heart messages arising from your inner truth. This full moon also lines up very close to Beltane Day. The Gaelic May Day is May 1st and has been celebrated as Beltane Day for centuries. Farmers would light and smudge collected piles of brush from their winter clean up of the fields. They would command the fields be purified. They would then be ready to allow the new born offspring their first journeys out into the pastures with their herd. Spring is in full swing as the tides begin to shift on Beltane Day. It is the halfway mark between spring and summer. We are now in the period of some of the longest sunlit days of the year!! Celebrate not only by the sunlight but by the moonlight as we all begin to stretch and grow in the warmth of the thawed earth underneath our feet. Whether you are taking this time to bring cleansing to the outside of your homes or the inside, this full moon is a great time to smudge the outside perimeter of your home. It is also a great time to charge crystals by the light of the full moon and use them May 1st as a grid to honor the boundaries of your land and reestablish that caretaker relationship between you and the land where your homestead sits! If you require more detailed support on this practice feel free to reach out to me with questions. It is so important to reconnect with the thawing lands after winter slumber. Much is awakening and being created at this sacred time. Our group full moon burn around the fire pit will include a cleansing intention for all the quantum moonBEams near and far. I'll be thinking of each of you under the moonlit sky. Have a great end to your weekend and an amazing May Day.
